Default VPN and Remote Desktop Connection through http-tunnel?

Hello to everybody!

Is it possible, in an network, to redirect a VPN connection and a Remote Desktop Connection to http-tunnel app so to be able to bypass network's firewall?

Thanx in advance! :-)

VPN - no. Remote Desktop, yes if you are running the mstsc (Remote Desktop Client) from behind the firewall, and the Remote Desktop Server (the machine you want to control) is not behind a firewall.

If so, watch the SocksCap video in the Documentation forum - you will need to download sockscap from www.socks.permeo.com and use it as in the video to socksify Remote Desktop to go via HTTP-Tunnel.

The video you suggest will not run for some reason.

I have http-tunnel running, and the test indicates it should run.

I have Sockscap v 2.38 running, and I think I have the correct server info.

I launch mstsc from within sockscap, and it comes up and looks okay.

I can't connect, however.

I get, \"The client could not connect to the remote computer.\"

Please advise.

Run the beta from this forum, and read the \"Readme\" post in the documentation forum to get the right codec to view the video with!

Okay. I watched the video. I changed the socks server in the sockscap settings to localhost (instead of the company's socks server).

Everything else is the same (running mstsc out of sockscap).

It seems to get further along, but gives the following errors:

Client requesting SOCKS5CONNECT to Myhomeservername:80
CONNECT Myhomeservername:80 HTTP/1.0
Proxy Reply: HTTP/1.0 403 ForbiddenServer:squid/2.5.STABLE7Mime-Version
Trying via HTTP-Tunnel server.
Upstream connection #5: Remote server rejected connection.

Configure -> Turn off \"Proxy Server supports CONNECT\"

I'm still getting:

Upstream connection #5: Remote server rejected connection.

Any other ideas?

By the way, I'm also running the beta version, as directed.

Also, I know my home system is accepting connections successfully through standard routes.

Make sure your terminal services client isnt pointing to port 80.
i.e. it should have *only* your home PC's IP in the address box.
