Default need some input

Today I found utorrent (configured correctly) loading WITHOUT ht-client working (it crashed before). I never had this before in my 2 years using http-tunnel. This happened with upnp configured active on the router. Can this be the reason?

Are you saying that: You have utorrent configured to use the tunnel: Values set at: 127.0.0. 1 and 1080 for the port. But that the tunnel client was not running? But utorrent was making connections any way?

Then those may have been lagacy connections.

I use my firewall ( sygate ) to block my p2p client. Forcing the p2p client to make connections only through the tunnel client and thereby avoiding any legacy connections. < Prevents snooping by ISPs, etc.

This does tend to slow things down a bit. Connections take a little longer to make. But. I have peace of mind.

utorrent was configured at: 127.0.0. 1 and 1080 for the port, no DHT nor nat option was activated in utorrent client.

"Then those may have been lagacy connections"-->No! TCP-View showed utorrent connected to ip's others than localhost (public IP's). The ht-client was not running because of crash.
I never had this before. What I did a day befor I realized this unusal behavior, and may be this could be the reason: I configured the tcp-settings manually as described in this post:
http://forums.http-tunnel.com/showthread.php?t=2307
and I switched the half-open connections with vllord-patch to 1000.

I followed your advice now using sygate to block utorrent forcing it to make connections only through the ht-client.

I will load some files with utorrent during the weekend without having sygate running to see if this happens again.

Something else that I do on occassion. If I do not want to use my firewall and have things speed up a bit.

This will also insure that all utorrent connections go the tunnel client.

I use a Socksifying Agent such as Proxifier or Hummingbird.

Set to Proxify All or Socks All respectively.

Follow the guide for utorrent for all settings except do not configure for a proxy.

I can then exclude my browsers, IM, mediaplayer, etc. However; I do not do much else while I am downloading with a p2p. P2P are resource hogs and not much else is going to work when a p2p is running.

If you are behind a proxy and not a firewall. You may want to have a look at this > analogx http://forums.http-tunnel.com/showth...alogx#post7116

crash fix: http://forums.http-tunnel.com/showth...ed=1#post10912

You may want to consider an app called: AlwaysUp. I have it. It does what it says.

Hi William,

Today I found utorrent loading from peers without ht-client working (crashed before)
This happend under new System Windows 7!!

Here are some screenshots:

As I see all of the settings in utorrent-preferences are configured correctly for
using Socks 5 Proxy by default. No DHT is checked nor NAT.

So what is going on here?

Hey William,
maybe better to delete this Thread. I guess this is the 5th or 6th time that spam was placed here.

Sometimes when I log on to the forums there will be over 300 spam messages. Which I must delete.

People get paid to post that crap.
